- Tarahumar of Mexico: Their Environment and Material Culture - Campbell W. Pennington, U. of Utah Press 1963. A geographer's perspective. Out of print.
- Híkuri ba, Peyoteriten der Tarahumara - Claus Deimel, 1996, Landes Museum, Hannover. Professor Deimel is a German anthropologist who spent time in the Sierra researching peyote curing practices of the Tarahumara. - Jaguar and Serpent. The Cosmos of Indians in Mexico, Central and South America (Dietrich Reimer Verlag, Berlin 2000) Contains several articles about Rarámuri peyote, masks and medical herbs. Written by Claus Deimel with Elke Ruhnau for an exhibition in Hannover.
- Culturas Indigenas de la Sierra Tarahumara by Electronic Publishing, 1999. This CD-ROM includes texts, maps, and multimedia elements that deal with the culture and history of the four Indian groups that live in the Tarahumara Mountains. Spanish only.

- The Raramuri Education Initiative "In 2003 the traditional Rarámuri authorities and other residents of the Norogachi area established an asociación civil (the Mexican equivalent of a non-profit organization) to encourage the preservation of Rarámuri language and culture. Known as Busuréwame, A.C., this NGO will provide the framework within which the REI will be organized and managed. It will complete this undertaking in close consultation with the members of the participating communities and in collaboration with Mexico-North."
